...and so it has started...

Yes, the weather is great, the town is alive and our summer season is in full bloom.  This is a very busy time of year for us so we just wanted to say a quick hello and let everyone know that we will do our very best to keep the posts coming with how our summer is unfolding and make sure to post some of our latest weddings and portrait sessions images soon.

Great Couple Session

Couples Session were in the past not something, I completely value, I have to say, I didn't get it!  I am now a believer.  By taking the time to really get to know my couple, I am able to make these images so much more then just generic engagements images.

This is them, candid, unique, stress free, everyday simple fun and I love it.  With some great complicity on both sides, we can achieve images that represent and are real...and gorgeous.

Some of the most fun, I have had in an afternoon of just shooting for fun, thank you Breanne & David for teaching me without knowing to keep it simple and always to have fun.  And to think that you said you were shy and not photogenic, well now!

Can you imagine how much fun we will have at your wedding!  Moustache anyone...

Little Coby

As we get prepared for the Wedding Season, we get so involved with our couples, it's nice to be invited into new parent's home and celebrate their little ones.

Coby was no exception, precious, so good & gorgeous, 10 weeks old and already such an handsome boy.

Better to lead, teach and challenge or do what everyone does?

I have been reading Seth Godin's Blog every morning.  It is my new way to wake up.  It never miss, there always seems to be some part of his daily blog that is relevant to my business every day.

I had to question myself this morning one of his questions was a real eye opener to me and my belief as the value and the purpose of why I have chosen or most likely photography has chosen me.

Seth ask: "Choose: teach and lead and challenge your customers, or do what they ask..."

It is a constant fine line that I strive to keep clear and one that I believe so much.  I am passionate beyond reason, I belief without a doubt that photography (good...no great photography), is one of the most valuable and precious service one can receive, it will outlast the subject but will live on for generations to follow.  How powerful to look at your grandmother's wedding image, Your mother's photograph while she was expecting you and to know that my daughter will be able to find comfort and security in looking back at those same images, this is her tangible history, our trace.

So do I want to offer to an average service without challenging my client for what they truly should expect or do I want to keep investing time and emotion to find out precisely how I can make sure that the experience I will offer them will redefine what they should expect from a photographer and ensure that our experience together turns into a page of their history.  That's how important I believe it should be.

Who said Maternity can't be sexy

I am so excited about this image.

Lynnette and Brad came to me as friends of one of my wedding couple from last October.  I remembered Lynnette gorgeous girl from the Bridal party and I was excited to know she was looking for maternity images.

She gave me some ideas of what she had in mind but she also told me I had "Carte Blanche" to do what I wanted.

So in the comfort of their home, we had a wonderful time.  A bit of everything, I love her profile and I was looking for this pure simple line with some whites but I also wanted a little punch with some reds!

Fun Fun Fun

Emmanuelle et Jacob

Emmanuelle, Francois et petit Jacob

I had the priviledge to be back home at the perfect time to photograph my baby sister in her second pregnancy.  There's something great about having someone that knows you so well to tell you to just capture what I want.  So instead of the standard maternity shot, I truly wanted to capture a Saturday morning in their home.

Jacob was so excited, he did the clown most of the time but had a few really sweet moment (good thing I have a fast shutter and I'm getting pretty good at anticipating an 18 month old actions!  I also treated them to a little slideshow with one of my favorite musician these days"Coeur de Pirate" here is the link. Laura & James

Laura and James were married at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler with Wedding Planner Marcie from Bliss Event. What a great celebration, simply family and close friends but what a fun group this was.

Big Sky Country Club Video

We have been fortunate to have work closely with Big Sky to create a video to showcase the beauty of this wonderful venue for weddings and gathering.  I do believe it will be on their web site soon Big Sky Country Club, it is already on You Tube and here is a preview Big Sky Video by Gadbois Photography

The World of Social Media

We are here.  It's been a long painful journey.  I really do prefer just taking nice images then trying to figure out what my computer wants me to do but we are now on Facebook and Twitter.  It's not perfect yet but with a bit of patience and outside help (Anyone?)

We will be on top of it
